چکیده

Abstract This study describes the dynamic identification of a cable-stayed footbridge using an alternative data acquisition system and output-only modal methods. Data were collected during tests performed based on Arduino platform, consisting low-cost devices with on-board Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) accelerometers. The Peak-Picking (PP) method was used for stay cables. Frequency Domain Decomposition (FDD) Stochastic Subspace Identification - Unweighted Principal Components (SSI-UPC) methods complete structure. proposed efficiently recorded time series required Operational Modal Analysis acceleration process provided stable results. At least four mode shapes identified in all tests. A minimum high energy peaks 0 24 Hz frequency range spectrum obtained by cable selected method. In structure tests, first flexural shapes, within 9 range. Results domain showed maximum difference 2.37% experimental when compared to 3D finite element numerical model, while other frequencies between 1 2%. For method, 1.74% fourth frequency, differences 0.1 0.7% frequencies. evaluated Assurance Criterion (MAC) index, results varied 0.8513 0.9990.

Identification, Model Updating, and Validation of a Steel Twin Deck Curved Cable-Stayed Footbridge

To perform a realistic reliability analysis of a complex cable-stayed steel footbridge subject to natural hazard and corrosion, this article addresses a rational process of modeling and simulation based on identification, model updating, and validation. In particular, the object of this study is the Ponte del Mare footbridge located in Pescara, Italy; this bridge was selected as being a complex...

Development of a Low-cost Automated Tension Estimation System for Cable-stayed Bridges

Cable tension force is one of the most important structural parameters to monitor in cable-stayed bridges. For example, cable tension needs to be monitored during construction and maintenance to ensure the bridge is not overloaded. To economically monitor tension forces, this study proposes the use of an automated wireless tension force estimation system (WFTES) developed solely for cable force...

Investigation of Pedestrian Walking Loads on a Cable Stayed Footbridge Using Modal Testing and Fe Model Updating

This paper describes the finite element modelling, dynamic testing and finite element model updating of a newly constructed, 35m span, cable-stayed footbridge. A numerical simulation, using an updated FE model, was conducted to evaluate the accelerations that would be induced by a walking pedestrian. The results from the simulation were compared to corresponding experimental measurements, and w...
